biography

A native of Trieste, Italy, Fabio Poian is a London based drummer and music director.

Some of the most renowned artists he has played with include Izzy Bisu, Madeline The Person, Arturo Sandoval, Andrae Crouch, David Davis, Melissa Manchester and Clint Holmes to name a few.

He also MD’s for artists such as Nora, Crossley, Emilie Rachel, Kitty Montague, Danny Wright and many more.

In 2007 Fabio won the Under18 - Groove section national final of the Italian “Drummer of Tomorrow” contest which was organized by Mapex in Bologna, and hosted by Dom Famularo.

In 2009, Fabio moved to the United States to pursue his career and to study music performance at the Los Angeles Music Academy (now LA College of Music) under the guidance of world class drummers such as Joe Porcaro, Ralph Humphrey, Tony Inzalaco, Gary Ferguson, Aaron Serfaty and Richie Gajate Garcia.

After a successful five years living and working in the US, Fabio went on to play on numerous cruise ships including 6 star liners, both as sideman and then as Music Director, where he would manage and play for shows in the theater for the on-board cast or guest entertainers.

In 2017 he then relocated to London to continue his career in one of the most important music hubs in the world. He has been busy directing and performing with a variety of artists around town as well as touring.

Fabio is also very keen in music production which he studied at Garnish School of Sound in London, and runs his own studio in London.
